Despite the common belief that people with vein problems always have varicosities, majority of patients do not have visible signs of the disease at all.  Instead, they suffer from tiredness, heaviness, swelling, aching pains, burning, itching, cramps, restless leg syndrome, and even non-healing ulcers. While some people develop varicose veins, the others have so-called "spider" veins, yet other ones have swollen legs as a single sign of vein disease.  Eventually and regardless of the type of venous disorder, the condition can lead to serious complications, including leg ulcers, bleeding, infection and even blood clot formation.

All of the above-described problems, as well as many others, can be caused by abnormal circulation in veins of lower extremities, a condition called "venous insufficiency". In our clinic you will receive comprehensive consultation, appropriate diagnostic procedures and individually selected treatment provided by our caring doctor specializing in management and treatment of vein diseases.  Dr. Milne uses advanced diagnostic techniques to choose the best non-surgical or minimally-invasive procedures, which have over a 98% success rate following the first treatment and are performed in the outpatient setting of our comfortable office. Dr. Lawrence Milne is a Board Certified surgeon with over 25 years of clinical experience in vein disease and venous disorders.   His entire medical practice is solely devoted to the diagnosis and treatment of vein disease, varicose and spider veins.  Dr. Milne is a recognized leader in minimally invasive techniques including radiofrequency ablation procedure (VNUS Closure™), endovenous laser ablation procedure (EVLT), and sclerotherapy.  These techniques provide gentler, non-surgical alternatives to surgical vein stripping.  These are the most cutting-edge techniques that boast a success rate of more than 98% following the first session and require no downtime.

Vein diseases treated at Dr. Milne's practice include Chronic Venous Disease, Peripheral Venous Disease,Chronic Venous Insufficiency, Thrombophebitis, Deep Vein Thrombosis, Leg Venous Ulcers. He helps patients solve their vein conditions with minimally invasive care: endovenous laser and radiofrequency treatment of varicose veins; endovenous laser treatment; radiofrequency ablation; ClosureFast; EVLT; Spider Vein Removal (Telangiectasis); Sclerotherapy; Sclerotherapy of spider veins; ultrasound guided Foam Sclerotherapy.

Dr. Milne received his M.D. degree from the Loma Linda University School of Medicine in 1984.  Then, he pursued and completed his intensive residency program in general surgery and extensive fellowship program in vascular surgery accompanied with additional vein treatment training.   His specialty in general surgery and vascular surgery provided unique preparation and expertise to address vein disease in its entirety.  This extensive training included more experience in vein treatment than typical surgical trainings elsewhere.  Dr. Milne is a diplomat of the American Board of Surgery and a member of the American College of Phlebology.
