  Alcat is a non-IGE mediated test to help the individual identify foods that they might be intolerant to. The intolerance can lead to many problems including fatigue, g.i. disturbances, headaches, joint pain, rashes and a host of other things. The test price includes the mobile draw fee, the actual lab test and two 1/2 hr. nutrition sessions, one before the test and one after the results are back so I can review them and provide you with a sample menu.

  This test measures the amounts of nutrients in your system and is a far more definitive test of deficiencies or excesses than a food journal. It provides more specific info on what you need to increase in your diet as far as foods high in the nutrients low in your system and removing the excesses (yes, too much of a good thing might cause, say a kidney stone). The biochemical individuality means that people need differing amounts of nutrients, absorb differing amounts, so until you look at the actual levels, you are only giving an educated guess on what is needed nutritionally to achieve a more balanced nutritional state. The cost of the lab test includes the draw fee, the complete lab test and a 1/2 hour consultation after the results are back to provide you with recommendations. Hopefully, I have already seen you once and have done an initial assessment of your current condition, meds, health, chronic illnesses, food likes/dislikes, etc. Some medications, like statins, increase requirements for nutrients. With statins you usually have to take Coenzyme Q10 or you will have muscle problems, contractions,etc.

  Because of my intrinsic concern for all the misinformation being given about supplements and the lack of information provided by doctors who just send their patients out the door with a recommendation to take this supplement or that and really doesn't advise the patient on what type of supplement (calcium carbonate, calcium citrate, calcium oxide) or how to take it (never take vitamins with medications, don't take calcium with iron as they cancel each other out), that I opened my dispensary site with at least SOME free education so people don't have to seek out the retail clerk and end up purchasing calcium oxide which is barely absorbed at all and wasting their money and getting nothing but constipation and possible arterial occlusion from not knowing what calcium supplement to take and how. If physicians want to prescribe supplements, they must provide the education. If they don't I am here and I don't charge anything.
