My parents were in several other nursing homes, and my mom died because of abuse at one of them. Most nursing homes are providing bad care and should be highly regulated or shut down.I transferred my father to Baptist Health Care, and it is the only nursing home I have ever seen that provides care like a family would. They demonstrate a level of excellence that sets the standard for what nursing homes could be, if only the government would be more diligent in making sure nursing homes were caring and competent. I commend Baptist Health Care for having a superlative facility and showing what can happen when true respect for the elderly is the guiding ethic.
Our Mom was in two other facilities and we moved her for neglectful care. We finally got her into Baptist Health Care and she was in this facility for about 4 years. She had a wonderful staff and the nursing department responded quickly to every concern and request that we had. I would say she had excellent care and we did not worry about her well-being in this facility. Some of the staff seemed to truly care and went above and beyond the call of duty when caring for our Mom. I would certainly recommend this facility.
Not only were they able to provide everything they promised me, they went above and beyond and exceeded my expectations. I was given a brief greeting when I walked through the door, but no one made any sort of effort to help me. I felt ignored. I was amazed at how wonderfully they treated each of their staff members. They were so appreciative and thankful. I've never seen any employer treat their staff better, and it made me want to come back that much more. When I first opened the door to their office, I noticed a faint but distinctly foul odor. It wasn't unbearable, but it definitely wasn't enjoyable. They have a very good professional reputation. I know that I'm under the care of an expert.
