Dr. Mohty made me feel relaxed both before and after surgery. At my follow up appointment Dr. Mohty advised me to keep my hand bandaged and to keep the bandage clean. I did not follow his instructions to keep my bandage clean; at my next appointment Dr. Mohty expressed in a humorous manner the need for me to keep the bandage clean. I made sure to keep it clean the next week, and Dr. Mohty was very pleased with the condition of my bandage on my next visit.

I would recommend Dr. Mohty to other patients and wanted to express my ‘thanks’ and appreciation to Dr. Mohty and staff!

Dr. Mohty saved my ability to use a keyboard by using a non-surgical approach that provided excellent results. His approach was unique among other doctors who I visited, and he completely corrected the problem.

He is kind, insightful and profoundly skilled. I was very fortunate to have been his patient, and will always be grateful to him for having erased the effects of my injury. His work has a daily positive impact in my life, and I cringe to think of what things would be like if I had gone to lesser surgeon.

If ever I had another hand or arm injury in the future, anywhere in the world, I would return to Scottsdale to seek treatment by Dr. Mohty. Yes, he is that good.

Thumb up..
I was enjoying remote back country off- road in Arizona ( Rug road) with my Pinzgauer club when after being on the trail several hours my steering spun violently, damaging my thumb badly. After having a picture of my thumb taken and the wounds cleaned, the pain was somewhat bearable and I decided to continue the trip. A few hours later, from the top of a hill I was able to have a phone contact with my friend Ahmad, and told him my story. I sent him a picture of the damaged thumb. As it happened, Ahmad was having lunch with some friends, one of them being a hand surgeon.. Dr. Athef Mothy.
As soon has Dr. Athef Mothy seen the picture he suggested me to see him Monday morning first thing.
Sunday night I went to the local hospital that start immediately on antibiotics and was informed that I need a hand surgeon. I told them that I know one who was going to see me the following morning. After they verified that Dr. Athef Mothy was going to see me they released me.
I could not be luckier. Dr. Athef Mothy changed his schedule and took care of me Monday morning. The bone at the top of my thumb had gone out from its socket and behind the other bone. The thumb had an open wound, one inch by more than a quarter inch… He re-arranged his schedule for the next day (surgery day) where after 3 hours of surgery he put back everything in its place , securing it with a metal pin and stitched the wound. I found out that Dr Mothy speaks French having studied in Montpellier (occidental world oldest medical university) where I was living during the same time period..
Without the quick intervention of Dr Athef Mothy my thumb could have been lost..

I had a complex injury to my right ring finger which consisted of a "tuft fracture with dislocation", and a "middle phalanx central slip avulsion fracture". Dr. Mohty was great in taking the time to explain things in detail. I appreciate that I was seen only by Dr. Mohty, and how meticulous he is during our session. I want to Thank Dr. Mohty for the excellent care that he provided!

Dr. Atef Mohty removed a ganglion cyst from my left thumb knuckle. The evaluation, prognosis, surgery and follow-up was all excellent steps in correcting my problem. Dr. Mohty and his staff were very calm and understanding at each visit and at the surgery. I could tell they really care about everyone who visits them. I did not have a problem overbooking appointments. They definitely believe in quality over quantity here and it is much appreciated. The doctor listened closely to everything I was telling him, and showed a lot of attention to detail. I've never had to worry about them forgetting something or not reading my information correctly. The restrooms at this office were spotless.

I suffered from tennis elbow for more than six months. I was not able to use my arm for normal activities. I went through various dosages of anti inflammatory drugs and sessions of physical therapy with no improvement. A friend of mine recommended Dr. Mohty. I was able to get an appointment in very short time. The staff were very friendly. I was very impressed with D. Mohty’s knowledge of my condition. He took his time explaining my symptoms, treatments and options. After examination, he decided to give me cortisone injection and a brace for my hand to loosen the pressure of my elbow. I recovered in less than a week. I highly recommend Dr. Mohty.

I visited Dr.Mohtey after fracturing my right hand. I feel so lucky to have found Dr. Atef Mohty and he is a true blessing to the world. Dr. Mohty was the 3rd doctor I saw and was tho only one who made my hand feel comfortable. He is absolutely the best doctor ever! He is incredibly smart and one of the nicest guys I know. Actually took the time to explain my problem and diagnosed it properly unlike the doctor I visited before. He is a perfectionist which is absolutely necessary as an orthopedic surgeon, while we was forming my splint he stopped and started over again so that it would be perfect and he wouldn't even let me leave till the splint hardened to make sure it was in the right position. He cares for all his patients and even called me the same day I visited him to see how my splint hardened. Over all he is one of the greatest doctors of all time and I will never forget my great experience with him. Im actually looking forward to visiting him in 3 weeks!

Every time I come here they always remember me by name and greet me as soon as I walk in the door. They are very thoughtful. They have some of the best customer service I have ever seen. Putting their customers first is definitely a priority here and it shows. They make an extra effort to get to know their patients and find out what they need. They always remember me and make me feel very important. They made sure every single question I had was answered, and are always available if I think of any more questions I want answered. It was very easy to get an appointment. They have a very flexible schedule and get me in quickly every time. After my surgery I had no pain or swelling and could not have asked for better treatment and service. I would recommend Dr. Mohty to anyone needing treatment for carpal tunnel syndrome or any other hand injury or treatment.
