I usually do not write reviews but I was impressed with Dr. Batchelor and his staff so her it goes. I was examined by Dr Batchelor and I was very impressed with his ability to read my body and know what was going on. When he arrived at a diagnosis, it was spot on. When he treated me, he was very effective. Some doctors have it and some do not. Dr. Batchelor has the touch. He also prepared a sheet with specific corrective exercises for me so that I could strengthen the weak areas of my back. I really enjoyed the visit to his office. Co-pay was only $10. His staff was very polite and efficient. I recommmend them highly.
Last month I was playing with my kid in the yard. I lifted him and felt a bolt of lightning stick into my right rib cage and lower back. I could hardly breath. All bent over, I got in my car and went to Dr. Batchelors office. Dr. Batchelor had helped me in the past so I went to his office as soon as I could. He checked me out and found a rib head that had popped out of position. He gently manipulated the rib and I could hear it snap into position. I took a deep breath to see if the pain was there and it was gone as well as the pain in my lower back. When I walked into his office, I was all bent over like an old person. When I walked out of the office, I felt like dancing. Dr. Dan is the man. Thanks doc!!!!
I would rate the value of the service to be average; poorly placed stem treatment, quick stretching and adjusting for about $150 per visit. But it is the lack of professionalism that will never bring me back.
Due to an honest oversight on our behalf of the way in which this business was to be paid out from our insurance company we ended up owing him money. Because they are out of network we received checks from our insurance company which were apparently supposed to go to Dr. Batchelor. Because my wife had a baby at the same time as my treatment we were receiving refunds, rebates, and all other types of communication from our insurance company on a daily basis. What we thought to be another refund was actually Dr. Batchelor's payment.
This was brought to my attention by his office manager with an initial call demanding immediate payment so that they would not have to move this to Small Claims Court. They were kind enough to follow up with an e-mail stating their desire to clear this up so that my wages would not have to be garnished from my company. Once I realized what had happened and that it was my mistake I promptly paid them in full, within an hour of their call. I gave them the advice that threats on an initial follow up call are not necessary and that the way they handled the situation was less than professional. All I got back from them was a sarcastic remark. It is safe to say that I will never again put my health in the hands of such an unprofessional organization.
I have been an MD working in North Fulton for the past 14 years. I was helped by Dr. Batchelor after the so called "Best in Atlanta" could not help me. After years of suffering from chronic neck and rib pain, Dr. Batchelor diagnosed cervical neuritis and intercostal neuralgia. He treated me with physical therapy combined with chiropractic and after 2 visits the nerve pressure was eliminated. My neck and rib feel perfect and I thank Dr. Batchelor for finding the cause and correcting it. I have certainly changed my ways of thinking when it comes to medicine and chiropractic. Working together for the good of the patient has become paramount.
Over the years I have used many different chiropractors for the treatment of my lower back pain issues. The one that stands out is the one I use now. Dr. Batchelor has helped me through the times when I thought I could not be helped. Hes a great athlete and doctor and I would recommend him to anyone that is looking for the best. Another benefit is that he is a PPO provider and my insurance covered 100%. Also besides fixing my back, he has helped me rehabilitate the area with a exercise program that he developed for my condition.
I lifted a weight at the fitness center and thought I had broken my back. The sound was loud and other people near me actually heard the bone move out of position. I want to Dr. Dan who I had know about for years. He checked me out, treated me with therapy and then adjusted my lower back. That same sound occur when he treated me but this time it was from the bone moving into position and not out of position. I stood up and felt like a new man. I was actually able to work out the next day as if nothing had happened to my back. Thanks Doc for getting back into action. I dont know what I would have done had I not known about you. Thanks!!!
I was treated by Dr. Batchelor a few weeks ago for injuries I suffered from as a result of crashing on my mountain bike and injuring my elbow and lower back. I love to mountain bike and even though it is dangerous, the benefits definitely outweigh the detriments. Among other things, biking allows me to burn calories so that I can eat as much as my boyfriend without getting fat. My boyfriend trains and races bikes with Dr. Batchelor so when I crashed and got injured, it was a given that I seek care at Dr. Batchelor's office. He treats most of the local athletes and he has been in practice for something like 30 years so he definately knows his stuff. Besides that, he is a top ranked endurance athlete himself. Dr. Batchelor x-rayed my painful elbow and found a small chipped bone near the joint. It was an injury that would not need a cast or surgery so I was happy about that. He put my arm in a splint and gave me a list of things to avoid for the next 8 weeks. It is healing up nicely. The other injury i sufferred from during the crash involved my lower back. The pain was intense and when I coughed it felt like the joint at the bottom of my lower back was going to explode. He examined my lower back and found that the last vertebra in my lower back had misaligned and was pinching on a nerve. He treated me by using ultrasound to reduce the swelling in the injured area and then he adjusted the vertebra back into normal position. My severe pain vanished immediately. I was impressed because I was able to work out painfree the next day after treatment. Dr. Batchelor is not like some stuffy doctor hiding behind a white jacket. Hes real, hes laid back and he actually cares. I am so lucky that my boyfriend has a friend that is so cool and one of the top doctors in Atlanta. Dr. Batchelor is a PPO member with my insurance company so I did not have anything to pay which was really nice. If you need a great doctor, call mine.
I recently injured my lower back as a result of slipping on the tennis court while trying to return a serve. I felt a sudden pain in my left lower back. The pain was pretty intense and radiated into the back of my leg. I went to my family doctor who gave me pain killers and muscle relaxants. I did not take them because I know they do nothing to fix my back. I asked my best friend and she told me about Dr. Batchelor. I went to Dr. Batchelor and was pleasantly suprised. It was only a $15 copay, his front desk person was very sweet and Dr. Batchelor was very professional. After the treatment, I felt so good that I was able to play tennis that evening. That is what healthcare is suppose to be like. Thanks Dr. B and staff for helping me.
These people are the biggest crooks I have ever met! I went in there because I was in an extreme amount of pain. Prior to going I was told that I would receive a "free consultation". I informed them that I do not have health insurance that covers chiropractic care. The receptionist said that was no problem. That after my free consultation I would be able to discuss treatment with the doctor. After that, the normal adjustment fee would be $30-$40. There was NO treatment discussed. The doctor just started perfoming care without discussing. I was under the impression since there was no treatment discussed that this was all covered under the "free consultation". After he was finished, I went to check out and was told I owe them $165!!!!! Since when is that free???? I was in so much pain and not in the mood to argue. So I told them I could pay them $50 today and thought that was fair for the services performed. I then received a nasty email from the receptionist stating that she is going to garnish my wages to get her $115. I think this is a classic "bait and switch". At some point when the "free consultation" was over and the treatment began, shouldn't I have been informed that this is going to cost me money? Especially when the doctor was well aware that I would be paying out of pocket.
I have been a sponsored wakeboard/skateboard athlete for the past 3 years. You could imagine the injuries that I have received as a result of my chosen sports. My neck and lower back have been injured. I have broken 3 fingers and my collar bone. I had a concussion and broke 2 teeth. I have sprained my ankles and wrists numerous times and was knocked unconscious two times. This is a dangerous sport especially for a female. I have injured so many areas repeatedly that I have developed some instability in certain joints in my back and neck. Dr. Batchelor has been so nice taking care of me for my injuries. He also treats my brother who is a mountain biker. If it were not for Dr. Batchelor I don't know what I would do. I feel like a race car when it pulls into the pits and the pit crew works on me and sends me back onto the raceway. I feel so good after being treated that I hate to mess up the good work that he did by crashing again on my skateboard or wakeboard afterwards. If you are tired of the same old, "take this drug, dont do this" philosophy and want to fix and not just cover up symptoms, then do what I do, call Dr. Dan.
