It's your reality.
Everything that you see is a reflection of what you believe, what you think and what you feel. In your reality, you are always right because as soon as you make a choice about, "this is what I believe, and this is what is right, and this is what is true," by golly, you will magically experience it. Your reality will confirm for you whatever you believe is true.

Magic is an essence. It is not visible. Magic is an alignment of vibrations that precipitates energy into form through the use of your imagination, your beliefs and your choices. It lines up the episodes and events that will lead to what it is that you desire.

Now, this magic can work for you or against you. If you hold beliefs about yourself that you cannot have what you want, or that you are not good enough, or smart enough, or deserving enough to receive, then that is what you will manifest, or not manifest, should I say. We are all great magicians. If you look at your life and determine, "I am not successful. I haven't manifested what I want," then know that you are still a fantastic magician because you can create not having what you want. So, how can you allow what you desire to magically manifest? Here are some tips to manifest what you want:

1.	The first thing to know in manifestation is what you believe and what you expect, you will look for, and if you look for it, you will find it. For example, if you look for a certain make and model of car while you are driving, you will find it because you are looking for it and you are anticipating it showing up. So, do not look for and anticipate obstacles.
2.	What you want to focus on when you are manifesting is the emotional state you want to experience. In other words, dream the function and not the form. You want to go into the future and imagine what you want has already happened. Feel the feelings that you would feel if you had what you wanted and then start looking for it in your reality.
3.	Do not let your monkey mind get in there and tell you all kinds of crap because it's going to trick you. If you do that, then magic will align you on a life track where you will manifest what you don't want. Is it any wonder your manifestations aren't happening if you focus on your limitations?
4.	Instead, align yourself with a loving supportive reality by saying to yourself, "Life is good. My reality takes care of me and takes care of everything I need. Things work out in great and magical ways for me. That's just the way it is for me." And believe that this is so.
5.	Take action. You have to do some physical action towards getting what you want. You can't just sit and meditate a fantastic life into existence.
6.	Allow the magic to work. Remember, a watched pot never boils.
7.	When it shows up, receive it.
8.	And thank your reality, knowing that there is more of this where this comes from.

Trust your reality knowing that you are deserving of whatever it is that you want and it will be there for you.

Suzanne Hosang lives in South Florida with her husband, daughter and a host of animals. You've probably read quite a few parenting books, which can be helpful, but no book covers all the bases. What advice do you wish someone had shared with you once you became a mother? - Most of the lessons I have learned have been through trial and error and I certainly wish that someone had told me the best places to nurse in my local mall, for example, or what the real story is with vaccinations - almost like cliff notes for parenting. None of us have a crystal ball to see what is ahead, yet we all see the value of perspective. It seemed that if I asked a direct question to a group of local mothers, I could get an answer, but mostly it took my making a mistake for someone to share their wisdom with me. Generally, people don't want to impose or have others think they're sticking their nose in their business - and that is certainly a risk when giving unsolicited advice. So from one mom to another, I'm offering this short list of things I had to figure out for myself. Adhering to this list won't change your parenting style because when it comes to your family, you know what's best. It will just make your life easier and a bit more manageable. 1. If you want your spouse to help you more, you must be clear about what you need. Do not wait for your spouse to read you mind or to pinch-hit for the family.
2. Self-care is an important part of motherhood. Taking time to improve your mental and physical wellness benefits both you and your entire family.
3. The difficult times in motherhood come in seasons. There is a season for sleepless nights, colic, fevers, extracurricular activities, middle school and smart talk from your teen. Sometimes it's more than one season at once. And while it might seem that what you're dealing with now will last forever, it won't, so hang in there.
4. Create a supportive family culture that shares the age-appropriate responsibilities. It often seems easier to just do it all in motherhood, but doing so means that your children don't get the benefit of learning how to do things for themselves and, well, you have to do everything.
5. Ignore moms that compete with you because your best is good enough. Just make sure to do your best.
6. Let your children know what you like and share your hobbies with them. It is so easy to be the mom and forget to share the person that you are with your family.
7. Set boundaries with relatives who stress you out. This can be initially awkward, but worth it in the end.
8. Let you children sleep with you if it allows you to rest, but kick them out of your bed if it prevents you from sleeping or enjoying quality time with you partner.
As a mother of three, I still don't know it all and I'm still learning things the hard way. Let's get interactive and help each other out. What do you wish someone had told you about being a mother?

Mia Redrick, Mom Strategist is a mom of three, author and speaker empowering one million mothers to practice better self-care. Use long handled tongs to turn the pepper until it is evenly charred (black skin) on all sides. Place the pepper in a plastic bag and seal the bag.

Oven: Preheat the oven to 450 degrees F. Place pepper a cookie sheet and roast for about 4-5 minutes until the skins blister. Watch carefully so it does not burn. When you give your power away, what you essentially do is take the reference point off you and put it out there to the thing that you give your power to. Now this is significant because in order to be powerful, you need to have the ability to make choices that come from Your Will, (not somebody else's Will) and to activate these choices if you so desire which is what power is. So a pertinent question now that you are an adult is, "Do you have the ability to make choices that come from your Will and to activate these choices if you so desire?"

If not, then who has your power? Is it your boss? Or is it your partner, your lover, or spouse? Does fear have your power? Or have you given your power to social mores or institutions such as the government, a religion or a philosophy? Do doctors or lawyers have your power? Or is it spiritual leaders such as rabbis, priests, ministers or gurus? Do you give it to controlling and domineering people? Have you given it to comfort foods, alcohol, drugs or other forms of escape? Have you given it to taking care of everyone else? Or, do you let people who are unhappy drain and suck your energy? Have you given your power away to money or time, the scarcity or lack of it?

You see, the problem stems from the fact that many times as children, we were given very twisted and warped definitions of power. We were told that you cannot have your reference point as you because that's selfish. That's egotistical. That's bad. You need to care for and love and serve others. Don't think of yourself or nobody is going to like you. We were told things like, "Oh, that person is powerful." But when we looked at that person, what we saw was one dominating, controlling, "blankety blank." So we concluded that to be powerful you had to be tough and strong, and have power over, and boss people around, and we didn't want to be one of those so we shied away from our power.

For you to step into your power, you must take your power back from those warped and twisted definitions of power. You've had power to just give away and you need to take it back from all the authorities to whom you have given it to. Below is a powerful technique given by a group of non-physical beings that I am friends with called Galexis:

1.	In your mind, see the person or thing out there that you are giving energy to. If it's a thing, then personify it.
2.	Imagine the power as a ball of light and mentally reach out and grab the power from them and bring it back into you.
3.	While doing this, take a big in breath while saying, "Power that I gave to you, return to Me. Power Return to Me." Repeat this three times.
4.	Now, sense yourself as being really large, about 15-20 feet and see yourself looking down at this person. You've gotten bigger because you took your power back. Notice that they are not as solid or as vibrant because all their intensity of power was your energy.
5.	In your mind, thank them for showing you where you gave your power away and for the opportunity to take it back.
6.	Then forgive them.
7.	And lastly, forgive yourself for giving your power away to them.

You are never powerless because you have choice at every point. You've even had the power to make choices to be powerless. Why not make a choice now to be powerful? Why not use your power to bring your reference point back to you, to claim your strengths, your abilities, your gifts and your talents? If you will own your power, you will find that you can change anything.

Suzanne Hosang lives in South Florida with her husband, daughter and a host of animals. There are mainly two groups:

1. Gastric ulcers - gnawing, burning pain present, usually after taking food

2. Duodenal ulcers - pain present on an empty stomach, relieved by eating.

Causes to consider:
*Heliobacter pylori infection
*Use of NSAID and aspirin
*Increased acid secretion
*Decrease barrier lining

An ulcer is caused when the mucosal lining of the stomach has deteriorated, allowing digestive acids to eat away at the underlying tissue. They are painful and can be very dangerous if left untreated. Other symptoms, other than pain, can present as bleeding, obstruction or perforation.

Heliobacter pylori (H pylori) is an S-shaped bacterium that colonizes in the mucus secreting epithelial cells of the stomach. Since it has multiple flagella, the bacterium moves and produces urease, which allows it to buffer the acid environment of the stomach and live there. The barrier lining of the stomach often becomes available to infection due to alcohol intake which can disrupt the lining. Too much intake of NSAIDS such as aspirin also irritate the inner lining of the stomach.

If you believe you have an ulcer, the first thing to do is visit your doctor and have that confirmed. The doctor's diagnosis looks at your history, barium meal X-ray or an endoscopy.

Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome

This is a rare condition with severe, recurrent and complicated ulcer with or without diarrhea. The cause is a Gastric Secreting Tumor, single or multiple that is mostly present in the pancreas. 2/3 of the tumor are often malignant. Treatment would include acid reduction of secretion and often surgical removal of the tumor.

Stress Ulcers/Curling's Ulcer

GI ulceration can often develop in relation to major psychological stress associated with burns, trauma, sepsis, acute respiratory distress syndrome, severe liver failure or major surgeries. Since the body is under extreme stress, it will secrete more HCL which is the apparent cause.

Alternative Therapies

If you choose to go with a natural remedy, cabbage juice has been researched for its quick healing of ulcers. Drinking one quart of cabbage juice per day can heal ulcers in five to ten days in many patients. Eating a lot of cabbage is also good for fending off a return of your ulcer, although the cabbage itself was not as useful in healing existing ulcers as the juice was.

Bilberry contains 11 Anthocyanosides, which have been shown to block ulcer formations.

Calendula is an immune stimulating herb with anti-bacterial and anti-viral properties that have shown to relieve chronic stomach irritation.

Chamomile is an anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, anti-spasmodic and contains stomach soothing properites. It also includes Apigenin, which is the known bioflavonoid shown to inhibit the growth of H pylori bacteria.

Cranberry. Some preliminary research suggests cranberry may inhibit H. pylori growth in the stomach. Consider 400 mg twice daily.

Garlic, which contains anti-viral, anti-bacterial and anti-fungal activities.
Gentian is one of the bitter herbs that help in digestion.

Ginger contains 11 compounds with anti-ulcer activity. This aromatic bitter stimulates the digestive system and helps improve sluggish digestion.

Licorice soothes inflammation and stimulates the production of mucin, which coats the stomach. Deglycyrrhizinated licorice is what you should use, since regular licorice root can raise blood pressure. Take a 250-500 mg chewable tablets before meals and a few hours before bed. Consider licorice root tea, twice a day or licorice in tincture form.

Marshmallow Root is a mucilage and relieves irritated and inflamed mucous membranes in the digestive tract.

Mastic (Pistacia lentiscus) is a traditional treatment for peptic ulcers and inhibits H. pylori in test tubes. Consider standardized extract, 1,000 - 2,000 mg daily in divided dosages.

Peppermint (Mentha piperita) may help relieve symptoms of peptic ulcer. Standardized, enteric coated tablet, 1 tablet 2 - 3 times daily. Each tablet contains 0.2 ml peppermint oil. Be sure to use the enteric coated form to avoid heartburn.

Pineapple provides glutamine which has been proven effective against ulcers. Also with bromelain, which works wonders on the digestive system.

Red pepper/cayenne may protect against peptic ulcers because Capsicum has been shown to prevent ulcers in labratory experiments.

Turmeric is a mucilage and relieves irritated and inflamed mucous membranes in the digestive tract.

Yellow dock root, which is an herbal antibiotic that may block the growth of H pylori.

-Top 12 Tips To Reduce Ulcers-

1. Acid reduction is a major part of healing this disorder. Be aware of the acidity of foods you eat.

2. Cut down the intake of milk and eggs. Higher milk consumption heightens the risk of peptic ulcers, since milk increase the production of stomach acid.1

3. Reduce intake of sugar and other refined carbohydrates, such as white flour. Sugar increase stomach acid. Use stevia instead.

4. Reduce salt intake. The more salt consumed the higher the risk of gastric ulcers.

5. Coffee and tea (even decaf) increases stomach acid.

6. Fiber intake is important. Fiber slows down the the movement of food and stomach acids to the intestine (Gastric Emptying Time), which helps those with duodenal ulcers. Consumption of legumes, whole grains, vegetables and other high fiber foods should be eaten daily.2.

7. Smoking delays ulcer healing. If your serious about healing your ulcers, it's time to quit.

8. Learn to cope with your stress in your life. Stress is known to exacerbate ulcers.

9. Use the power of Aromatherapy. Essential oils such as chamomile, frankincense, geranium and marjoram can be blended into a carrier oil and slowly massaged into the abdomen.

10. Eat plenty of dark green, leafy vegetables. They contain Vitamin K, which helps in healing ulcers. Most people with digestive disorders are deficient in Vitamin K.

11. Acupuncture has been used traditionally for a variety of conditions related to the digestive tract, including peptic ulcers. A growing body of scientific evidence suggests that acupuncture can help reduce pain associated with endoscopy.

12. Sepiae Frutillaria (Wu Bei San) is a traditional herbal formulation that is historically used for pain commonly associated with and due to overproduction of stomach acid. This is a modification of the traditional formula, adding bietillae striatae, rhizoma to increase its efficacy. Bietillae striatae, rhizoma is reknown to stop bleeding in the spleen and stomach.

References

1. All the time. Things happen for good and bad reasons and much of change is beyond our control. How we handle change is within our control. There will always be external events that cause change, but you still need to take control of your own reactions and attitudes toward change. Here are 10 tips to help you handle changes in your life without adding undue stress.

1. Expect Change
The best way to design an effective change outcome in your life is to be proactive and design a management strategy that is easy for you to follow. You want this transition period to be as comfortable and productive as possible. Your life can be viewed as a succession of chapters, each with its own theme and characteristics. Enjoy the journey and view changes in each chapter as an opportunity for self-improvement and growth.

2. Check your Attitude
Change can definitely cause disruption in your life. If you have chosen to make the change, then you probably feel more in control of the situation. If the change is occurring without your consent, then you need immediately to make certain that this transition does not take control of your decisions. When change happens in your life, react by being excited, stimulated and inspired-not threatened, terrified or immobilized.

3. Protect your Health
Change causes stress, and stress can be detrimental to your health. So whether you think you have the energy or not, take positive action. Start moving physically, and do not allow yourself to become complacent. Get 8 hours of sleep-regardless of whether you want it; eat well-regardless of whether you feel like it; exercise everyday to burn off some of the stress, and drink more water to flush out the impurities caused by toxic stress levels. When you handle change in your life, taking care of your physical body often is neglected. Keep moving-you'll feel better-even in tough times.

4. Get Out There
Regardless of the changes you are experiencing, life is worth living. So, go out and embrace life. Make life an adventure worth exploring. Not every part of your day is going to be exciting, but if you start noticing the little details of life situations, you can begin finding your surroundings more beautiful, people more inspiring, situations more interesting. Opening your eyes to the world around you allows you less time to spend focusing on things that may be worrying you.

5. Build Relationships and Network
Change can lead you to meet new and inspiring, helpful people, or it can lead you toward isolation. How you handle change in your life can cause you to become afraid and turn inward, not wanting to share your fears, sadness, or anxieties with others. But during life transitions, change is easiest when you let others help. Build a network of support. Surround yourself with a team of 2-3 people who will keep you moving on your forward path to success.

6. Be Yourself
You're good at that. Nobody else can be you. You have unique talents, skills, knowledge and opinions. Use them. But use them wisely and with respect for others. You will do a better job at handling change in your life if you handle change with your own set of tools rather than trying to work with somebody else's. You can be yourself better than anyone else. And stop trying to be someone else that you think people want you to be. That will not bring you success.

7. Set Goals
How you handle change in your life can have good or bad results. If you set goals for what you believe could be the best outcome, you will have a positive target to work towards. Focusing on a goal allows you to establish an action plan to move, one step at a time, toward that goal.

8. Believe in Yourself
Self-doubt is a destructive perspective to hold, and it denies your self-confidence. Maybe you have experienced a conflict with someone. Maybe you feel unqualified to complete a task because you compare yourself to someone else you think is more capable. Maybe you have been criticized for work you have done. Build your self-confidence by naming these doubts and identifying what is triggering them. You can replace self-doubt with self belief when you realize that you are human and have your own capabilities, even if other people disagree.

9. Pick Yourself Up
We all make mistakes. That is part of being human. The best way to move forward when life changes cause missteps is to be honest. Own your mistakes; don't put the blame on someone else. When you make a mistake, admit that you were wrong and learn from the situation. Use the experience to grow in wisdom.

10. Embrace Your Dream
Know your passion and don't be afraid to follow your dream. Ask yourself - plug in the answers to the following questions: "Where am I now?" And, "Where do I want to be in the future?" You are moving forward. As you handle the change in your life, celebrate your successes, small or large. You are on a journey we call life, and change is part of the process.

Dr. Ann Gatty coaches individuals in stress management strategies and building life transitions. Even though you expected the teenage years to be difficult, you just never imagined...this.

While it is completely normal for a teen to make a mistake or two (or many) along the way, I experience more and more parents who are struggling to let go of their teen's slip-ups, whether big or small. As a result, the parent-teen relationship develops into an unhealthy cycle of pain, distrust, and resentment from both sides.

Hanging on to old mistakes, rehashing past issues over and over again with your teen, and taking your teen's behavior as a personal affront can make for a bitter few years to say the least.

Are you finding it difficult to forgive your teen for their mistakes? Here are five tips to help you navigate your path back to a harmonious and healthy parent-teen relationship:

•	See your teen for who they are, not just who they appear to be. Volumes of research show that the teenage brain is not just a mini-adult brain. Brain development continues well into the 20's and the last part of the brain to develop is the frontal lobe, responsible for logic, impulse control, and rationale. So often, I hear from teens in my office whom are coping with the ramifications of a poor choice they made. Typically these kids know that they should not have made the choice but they just could not help themselves in the moment. This isn't to say that teens should be let off the hook for making bad decisions. However, understanding that the teen brain is not fully developed in the areas that control reasoning may help parents not to take their teen's mistake so personally.

•	Issue the punishment and move on. When you're fuming about your teen's screw-up it may seem hard to keep a calm head. I often teach the parents I work with my "issue the ticket" technique of discipline. When you are pulled over by a police officer, they usually stay calm, there is little lecturing, and the officer does not take your infraction personally. An officer simply issues you the ticket and moves on. As a parent of a teen you need to try to practice "policing" your teen the same way. Stop engaging in heated discussions and debates over your teen's mistake. Just stay calm, issue the punishment, and move on.

•	Maintain regular "parent" dates with your kids. The life of both parent and teen is busy and schedules are tight. Regardless, it is an absolute must that you fight for regular time with your teen, even if you don't seem to get along most of the time. Schedule the date and keep it. Sharing a meal or even going for a walk together might seem strained at first, especially because all cell phones should be ignored during your dates. However, you will find that it is during these uninterrupted times that your teen will eventually open up to you and discuss what is really on their mind, especially them to control the dialogue. Don't pepper them with questions. Just sit back and listen. In the end, the critical message your teen receives from you via these dates is that they are a priority and spending time together matters to you.

•	Find something (anything!) to be positive about and share it with your teen. Teens often complain to me that they only hear what they are doing wrong and what they need to do better. Over time, this dynamic causes a teen to view all interactions with their parents as critical. Spend 15 minutes writing down what you admire or appreciate about them. Take at least one off the list every week and share it with your teen. Hearing about what is good, what is positive, and what strengths they have puts wind into a teen's sails and boosts their self- esteem and confidence. Even if they seem to brush it off, trust me when I say that it matters to them more than you realize.

•	Remember the big picture. The right decision and the popular decision are rarely the same. Often times you will have to issue a punishment that is difficult. Don't forget that parents who do their job well are focused on raising independent, successful adults. This often means that a parent has to give up what is easy in the short-term for what will best benefit their kid in the long-term. Being a parent of a teen is often a thankless job. Do not forget that you are planting seeds and in time, they will sprout. There will be a time in your life where your child comes back around and thanks you for what that you have taught them. Keep your eye on the prize.

Jerry Weichman, Ph.D. is a clinical psychologist focused solely on teen and preteen issues. It's time to have fun. But, before you dare go outside, you will want to protect your skin from the hot sun.

If you're like me, your head will spin just by looking at all the different sunscreens on the market. So, how do you know which one to buy?

First, it's important to understand that there are two types of sun rays to be concerned with - UV-A rays which causes damage that leads to wrinkles and brown spots and UV-B rays which cause the actual sunburn.

Now that the science lesson is over, it's time to pick an SPF (Sun Protection Factor) that's right for you. And don't worry, all those SPF numbers may seem confusing, but I will decode them for you. Normally, your skin will burn in as little as ten minutes of sun exposure. An SPF 15 screens out 93% of UV-B rays. So where does the number 15 come from? Well, simply put it means that you can stay out in the sun 15 times longer than if no product were used for 150 minutes.

Does that mean an SPF-30 has double the protection? NO! Actually, any sunscreen with an SPF 30 or higher will provide only 97-98% protection from the suns UV-B rays.

So, what number is right for you? Obviously, the more protection you have the better, but don't waste your money on products rated above SPF-50 because there is no effective way to test them.

Did you notice that while I was decoding the SPF rating system, we were only discussing UV-B rays or the cause of sunburns? That's because the SPF system does not rate UV-A protection. So, be sure to look for products labeled Broad Spectrum Protection as well as water-proof sunscreen. They will last longer because they don't wash off the minute you jump in the water or have a little fun playing ball.

Once you have found the sunscreen that's right for you, remember that no sunscreen will provide you any benefit - if left in the bottle. Many people quickly smear a little sunscreen over the body and assume they are protected for the day. Here are a few tricks to help get the most out of your sunscreen!

Double check the expiration date on the sunscreen - to make sure the actives are still good as well as shake the bottle before using - to help make sure its mixed and not separating.

Next, apply sunscreen on you and the family 30 minutes before going out in the sun. The active ingredients need time to be absorbed in order to be effective. I suggest that you apply sunscreen before you leave the house and even before you put on your bathing suit.

The key is to make sure all areas are covered with sunscreen - not just the areas you think will be exposed. Cover feet, legs, torso, arms, hands, back, shoulders, neck, and face. Pay special attention to the ears, lips, eyes, and scalp (especially for guys with thinning to no hair). And since most sunscreen lotions can drip and irritate the eyes, consider a stick sunscreen for the face and around the eyes. Try it! Your kids will thank you for it!

How much sunscreen should you use? Sunscreens are formulated so the average person uses about one ounce. That's a lot more than you may have thought, but skimping on the amount you use only defeats the purpose and minimizes the benefits.

Another secret is to reapply, reapply, reapply! That's right - reapply every 2 hours you are in the sun - or even more frequent if you have been swimming or sweating.

With melanoma cases on the rise, it's critical that you properly apply your sunscreen and continue to reapply it - especially if you are going to be in the sun for an extended period of time.

Summer time can be fun, but make sure you follow these tips to help you avoid skin damage and the increased risk of skin cancer for you and your family!

David Pollock, is a global beauty expert who has formulated products for some of the most recognized names in the business.
